I love the wavy look on the page...waves of feeling and storms as you say. I wrote a book of poems where every poem is this way. Titled "Goodbye Yellowstone Road".
Excellent, well-done, brilliant, moving. Hoping not to offend or overstep, Tom, but the Ezra Pound in me would lose the first two lines -- without them the poem opens up a bit more. I'm a recovering editor, so you really should block me.
Tom, my wife lives some of the parts you have in your lines :-)
I am happy (and sorry) for you.
Beautiful! She can certainly overstay her welcome at times. I loved "her white fur coat tossed next to the door."
She was back again last week...like the last drunk at the party who won't leave.
Yes!
The varying line lengths have a gentle storm-like quality.

Tom, how did you know parts of my wife ?

Excellent thought, Ezra (everyone needs a good editor). I took that line out. Keep reading and editing - need all the help I can get, Peter.
She can be a bitch 😉
You said it!
It says it all, coolly eloquent
Thank ya's, Mike.
