Talking with someone who has trouble expressing thoughts and sentences can be enlightening. There’s often good sense in the nonsense.
"Thanks for leaving." I am going to find a time to use that. When a couple I know who are in their 80s, are ready to leave, the man says "Well, Margie, we better go. These people probably need to get their rest..."
I think I've used that goodbye line before - and will again no doubt.
